Sweet sugary malts and a touch of hops from the neck. Pours clear red with a thin but sturdy off-white head. Lots of bubbles clinging to the glass. Aroma of pine, candi sugar, and malt. Lots of hops in the flavor though. Sweet, medium bittered ale, with a little salt and hops. Seems very slightly acetic. Viscous, medium bodied, with a mild finish. The finish does linger on the palate though. Imperial Red? This really leans towards old ale or barleywine style ale IMO, and that's why I like it. Tasted from the bottle @ 52F.
A well balanced red ale with a healthy dose of caramel malts - this brew leaves an empire of flavor in your mouth!
