Celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day also known as it's my Birthday too!

The Simple Proclamation

PROCLAMATION
WE THE PEOPLE OF INDONESIA HEREBY DECLARE THE INDEPENDENCE OF INDONESIA. MATTERS WHICH CONCERN THE TRANSFER OF POWER AND OTHER THINGS WILL BE EXECUTED BY CAREFUL MEANS AND IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME.
DJAKARTA, 17 AUGUST 1945
IN THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE OF INDONESIA SOEKARNOHATTA

While the formal preparation of the declaration, and the official independence itself for that matter, had been carefully planned a few months earlier, the actual declaration date was brought forward almost inadvertently as a consequence of the Japanese unconditional surrender to the Allies on August 15 following the Nagasaki atomic bombing. The whole wiki is here.

I have to wonder if this is the odd reason why I love this food so much- that although the Independence day was near my mothers birth year, it was on my birth date. If we clear our minds of self involvement and look at the world as a whole, it is a very small world. We should all be looking out for each other.

Apparently according to this birthday website most people born in this month are just a bit left of center, which is fine by me! I have incredible birth month and even birth day people that I celebrate as all being truly individual and true to their selves.
